WHICH AMPLIFIERS DO YOU SUGGEST I USE?

WHAT MATERIAL ARE THE DRIVERS?

There are two primary materials used for the drive units. The “Spider Cone” bass drivers in the Klimt series and Beethoven Baby Grand and Concert Grand models are made from a unique thermoplastic called XPP. This material features high stiffness, combined with very high inner damping. It also exhibits excellent resistance to heat (its melting point is 240 degrees Celsius), which is especially important for bass drivers, because at the voice coil neck, where the cone is fixed to the voice coil, high temperatures commonly arise. XPP also exhibits the lowest specific weight of all available thermoplastics. The mid range drivers are made from a similar material called XPP which has subtly different physical and acoustic characteristics that better suit the mid range audio spectrum.

WHAT SORT OF TWEETERS DO YOU USE?

Vienna Acoustics tweeters are hand-coated silk domes from the Scandinavian school of design. The aspect that makes them singular in their ability to fulfil their task in a high-end system is the precise measurement and application of the cone coating liquid, including the number of layers applied. When this hand-coating is executed flawlessly in agreement with the exact speaker specifications, these silk-domed tweeters reveal the slightest nuances of the sound and extend well down into the midrange.

WHAT CABLES DO YOU RECOMMEND?

The choice of cables is highly subjective and is of course also dictated by the other equipment within your system, as well as your own personal taste. We would always recommend you ask advice from your retailer as they will be able to ensure you achieve the very best from your loudspeakers.

CAN I BI-WIRE OR BI-AMP MY VIENNA ACOUSTICS LOUDSPEAKERS?

No. Our belief is that single wire input connection is superior to bi-wiring and bi-amping, due to the clear benefits of utilizing one central ground point. Our crossovers are configured as an organic whole, intended to optimize every aspect of sound impact. And, by the way, we also think that within a given budget, you are able to obtain much higher performance from a single run of superior cable than with two lesser runs of cable.
